The wake

Saturday the 18th was Aunt Y's "wake". She did not want a funeral so her hubby and kids had a get together at the house. SO MANY people showed up. They didn't have one of those books you sign, but if I had to guess I would say at least 150-200 people showed up during the whole time. Boy to have that many people love you and miss you. I saw a lot of people I have not seen in many years. I even saw a guy I graduated high school with. I think I scared him when I hugged him. LOL. I just figure we both knew her and that makes it okay. :-) Damn, he is still cute too! There was LOTS of food and good stories. I got to meet her two brothers for the first time. Unfortunately didn't speak with them long but they seemed awesome! The one especially is a kick in the pants! I did pretty good not crying at the wake except at one point I shed a few tears with her daughter-in-law that was real close with her. Then I lost it when Uncle D asked how I was. I just cried and buried my head in his chest and told him that "I just love you guys so much." :-( After the wake I went to Mom and Dads to just hang and talk. Then I went the the bar with my sister. Our cousin and their friend showed up soon after we got there. I had one drink. I didn't feel like drinking. BUT I did do something for the first time! I did it so something good could come out of the day. I did karaoke! I sang "If I Could Turn Back Time" by Cher. It was fun. I had my sis and her friend go up with me so I wouldn't be by myself. Even though I ended up singing loud enough to hear on my own. I think I sound like crap, but it was fun. I think that about covers things without going into too much detail in an open diary. :-)
